Find your Saviour at BMBC this Christmas

As the year 2010 is coming to the final weeks, we usually have homecomings of BMBC members and former members from near and far, who come for holidays in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia and also to visit some relatives and friends.  You can be sure BMBC is one of their must come to visit place before they leave BUKIT MERTAJAM for home. They would visit BMBC for the Sunday Worship Service and fellowship with those familiar faces of BMBC who are faithfully attending BMBC weeks after weeks and years after years.

We had our BMBC Pastor Ooi Kheng Boon sharing the sermon.  The video highlights of the sermon on Sunday December 19, 2010 will be posted soon.  Please bear with us.  We hope to be able to improve on our presentation.  Here are some snapshots of the enchanting moments captured at BMBC on Sunday December 19, 2010.

If you are still not sure where to go this Christmas and the week ahead, come to BMBC and celebrate this Christmas with us.  Please join us for the Christmas caroling and Christmas Eve's dinner at the Church.  You do not have to look far for the stars to guide you to BMBC like the Magi from the east in the Bible(Matthew 2 NIV) .  You can look us up at Google maps here Come with your family and friends to meet Jesus and his children and the big family at BMBC.  For the details, please contact our office telephone no.604-5391854

By the way, another must have food at Bukit Mertajam is not just the "Olang" or "Peh lang" Rojak, it is our very own BMBC Sister Ah See's "Rojak" that you must savour.  Find your Saviour (Luke 1:47 NIV) at BMBC this Christmas.

BMBC Sunday Worship Service December 12, 2010

Greetings to you.  We are pleased to share this video highlights of our Sunday Worship Service of December 5, 2010 with you.  As this is our maiden project to upload the files to share with you, please forgive us for the delay in posting it as we had to re-do the editing and splitting into five (5) parts due to the size and time limits to upload it to You Tube and then link it back to our blog.

We apologize for the poor quality images due to the distortions when filming and managing the file formats and conversion. Also, please forgive us for the "shakes" due to the unstable hands of the cameraman and skills.  We shall make every efforts to improve it in the near future.  Please do help us to improve with your feed-backs and comments.  Meantime, we hope you will continue visit our blog or will come to join us at the Church for this Christmas Seasons' Celebration and Worship.

If you would like to contribute your articles, pictures and videos, please get in touch with our administrator at office contact no. 604-5391854. Enjoy the message viewing here.

Welcome to Bukit Mertajam Baptist Church

Greetings and welcome to all Bukit Mertajam Baptist Church Members, all well wishers, readers and our visitors.  This is BUKIT MERTAJAM BAPTIST CHURCH or more popularly known as BMBC.  This blog is a new chapter in its long established history.  The church has already joined the community with its online Facebook membership.  We have come a long way and there are so many historical and nostalgic events that have touched and moved many BMBC members, worshipers and visitors throughout the years.  There are some who were founding members of the church who have had from generations to generations have been the blessed worshipers of this "little" church as it was known to some on the net world who probably had came across the church's building photograph linked to Trekearth by Ally Thean Lyn or better still, it is the little church with the Big Tree in front which has been providing shades for our car park.

There are those who were borne and bred at this township and had been baptised and born again at this little corner of the Big Foot Hill or Tua Shua Kha or 大山脚 or Bukit Mertajam at Seberang Perai Tengah or previous know as Central Province Wellesley district in Penang, on the Mainland of Peninsular Malaysia.

Some were engaged, married and have their weddings solemnised at the Church and celebrated the happy occasions here too.  There are those who were celebrating their birthdays together and fellowships.  Then there were those who were dedicated to the Lord and blessed the Church by serving relentlessly for the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ.

There were visitors from near and far and missionaries who stamped their presence at the Church.  There were others who came to Bukit Mertajam town on pilgrimage annually for the festivals but never came into this little church with the Big Tree.  Those who came in and were blessed came again and again.  Those who are now spread out in the other corners of the world, we welcome you back and do visit us physically and on the virtual world.

On the other side of happiness, there were tears of joys and sadness too.  Some have gone to be with the Lord and rejoiced in His Kingdom in heaven above.  To each his own to relate to BMBC.  There were reverends,  pastors, preachers, missionaries, leaders and elders who have spent many sweet moments in time at the church and have contributed to the spiritual and pastoral , and leadership guidances guarding the spiritual and physical well being of the church's and members' welfare and coordinated many social, fund raising and community projects here.

We hope that this is a little corner where you can link to us and continue the fellowship with the church and attendees of the church, who are regular worshipers as well as some visitors who came by during the festivals and school holidays.

This posting is a prelude to the official postings by the Church pastoral team and Committee of BMBC and the Leaders of various ministries including the Youth and Children Ministry to cater to the various needs and objectives of the Church as stated in its Affirmation of Being and Intent, the Church Core Values and as well as in harmony with the various affiliations of the Church (BMBC),such as the Malaysian Baptist Convention (MBC) and National Evangelical Christian Fellowship (NECF) of Malaysia which is a member of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), Evangelical Fellowship of Asia and one of the three component bodies of the Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM).

As our journey begins, there will be information, notes on sermons, pictures and other media notifications to members of the various activities of the Church and for the Community in Bukit Mertajam in particular which will be posted to keep everyone updated and informed.  However, we need the unity and cooperation of members and lay initiatives from everyone to provide feedbacks and contributions to make this channel of information and communication a success and that you would want to return to visit us for more blessings or to bless us and to the salt and light of the world.

Please do forgive us for any of our shortcomings as we are a team of new non-tech savvies embarking and working on an infinite journey, and are on the discovery path on the online internet blog world.  There have been many ideas put forwards and shared with us to create our very own BMBC website which are being considered and we hoped in due seasons to explore on the uncharted course.

We humbly beg your forgiveness for any errors or omissions on any of our misgivings and misguided information posted here or in the future.

For those who would like to leave us your contacts and comments, we welcome you but please avoid any profanity and mind the sensitivities of our other readers.

May God Bless You.
