BMBC Sunday Worship Service January 16, 2011

Greetings.  We are pleased to have Pastor Johnathan Kwok and his family with us during last Sunday Worship Service.  Our BMBC Pastor Ooi Kheng Boon and Pastor Johnathan had a reunion of sort as Pastor Ooi was a lecturer at Baptist Seminary at Batu Ferringhi, Penang when Pastor Johnathan was a student at the seminary.  The last time Pastor Johnathan was in BMBC was in year 2008.  He and his family will be leaving our country soon for another of his mission works and calling to minister to the sea gypsies in southern part of Thailand who are inhabitants on the islands and islets in the Andaman Seas north of Phuket.  According the Pastor Johnathan, these are the people who survived the 2004 Asian Tsunami as they lived their whole life surrounded by the sea and are skillful fisherman. Since then, their existence have caught the World's attention and the Mission board is keen to reach out to and bring the gospel to these group of people.

Prior to this mission, Pastor Johnathan had gone together with his family on another mission to South Africa.  It is our privilege to have him here with us as he will have a very tight schedule from now until he leaves for the mission in Southern Thailand soon.  May God bless him and his family.

Birthday greetings to the birthday boys and girls borne in the month of January.  Keisha shared her testimony with the church and that she have been blessed with excellence results in her recent examinations and have secured scholarship to further her studies.  She and her parents thank the Lord for His blessings and provided lunch for the congregation.

Happy New Year 2011 to all BMBC members and friends.  It is the unwritten tradition of BMBC that the Pulpit is reserved for the Chairman for first Sunday Service of each New Year to share the words of God for Church and family.  However, this New Year 2011, we have invited Pastor Daniel Yaw of FCC to take the pulpit to share the words of God with us as our Chairman's beloved mother, Aunty Esther Samuel who is also the matriarch of BMBC, have suddenly returned to be with our Lord Jesus Christ and Saviour on the evening of New Year's Day January 1, 2011. Our Bro Ravi have made the arrangement at short notice for Pastor Daniel Yaw to be with us.

Our heartfelt condolences to our Chairman, Bro.Ravi and his family.

In my Father's house are many rooms, if it were not so, I would have told you, I am going there to prepare a place for you (John 14:2 NIV)

We acknowledge our appreciations and thanks to Pastor Silas and his church, Pastor Vincent Liew & Pastor Jack(BMBC) and Pastor Daniel Yaw(FCC) for their attendance as the Wake and Funeral Services

We mourn our loss of one of our pillar of love and matriarch of BMBC. BMBC and the congregation, mourners, relatives and friends sang this hymn for the last time at the church with Aunty Esther Samuel
  1. There’s a land that is fairer than day,
    And by faith we can see it afar;
    For the Father waits over the way
    To prepare us a dwelling place there.
    • Refrain:
      In the sweet by and by,
      We shall meet on that beautiful shore;
      In the sweet by and by,
      We shall meet on that beautiful shore.
  2. We shall sing on that beautiful shore
    The melodious songs of the blessed;
    And our spirits shall sorrow no more,
    Not a sigh for the blessing of rest.
  3. To our bountiful Father above,
    We will offer our tribute of praise
    For the glorious gift of His love
    And the blessings that hallow our days.
