Christmas Eve Service at BMBC Friday December 24, 2010

Hello and Happy New Year 2011. This posting have been delayed as our cameraman have been away for the holidays and were having a lot of things to catch up with. Our apology for delay.
Every one had a wonderful time at the Dinner and Service in celebrating Christmas at BMBC on Christmas Eve Service held on Friday December 24, 2010. The church was full and packed with members from BMBC, PBBC, African Church Congregations and also some of our Bahasa Congregation and family members and friends.

BUKIT MERTAJAM BAPTIST CHURCH CORE VALUES

Our Core Values are what we live by to fulfill our Purpose.

Our Core Values are:

1. We are God-Centered, Spirit-Led

We exist for the glory of God in Jesus Christ, led by the Holy Spirit. In every person and every ministry, God is first, God is to be honoured, and God is to be experienced.

2. We are Bible-Based

We live by the Bible as the revealed Word of God. Every person and every ministry must be guided by and grounded on biblical teaching.

3. We are Discipleship-Intent

We are to be a community of Christ-disciples. Discipleship is the process of transformation into likeness of Jesus Christ in Relationships, Character, and Vocation. Discipleship in BMBC calls for each and every person to be Internally Strong, Externally Focused and Being a Minister in Christ.

a) Internally Strong

We are to be and to grow as an authentic community of disciples who reflect the reality of Christ. We value expository preaching and teaching, biblical fellowship and community, prayer, and praise and worship (Acts 2:42-47). We value Unity at all levels. When we are united, the gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed and demonstrated to the world (John 17:20-23).

b) Externally Focused

We are to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16) to the community of Bukit Mertajam and beyond. We fulfill this by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and bringing about good deeds (Isaiah 58:1-12; Hosea 6:4-6; Micah 6:6-8; Matthew 9-13, 12:7, 23:23; 25:31-46), and we bring the works of love, mercy and justice to such as these.

c) Every Disciple a Minister

The ministries of BMBC are to be places as much as possible in the hands of the people who make up the congregation. We value lay initiative, leadership, responsibility, and authority in the various ministries of BMBC.

4. We are Kingdom- Minded

We are a congregation among many within the Church at Bukit Mertajam. We seek to share with other congregations the blessings that we have received and continue to receive, and to work with other congregations for the building up of His Kingdom.

5. We act in Faith, Hope and Love

We live and act in Faith, Hope, and Love (1Corinthians 13:13). Transformation into Christ-likeness takes place when we work in our Faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, we are steadfast in our Hope in Him and in the power of His Resurrection, and we labour in our Love for God and in our Love for others (1Thessalonians 1:3).

Encourage one another daily (Hebrew 3:13)
